In an unexpected blend of fast food and high fashion, renowned New Zealand jewellery designer Nick Von K has partnered with KFC to release a unique jewellery line, all in the name of charity.
This collaboration, known as “The Boneless Collection,” is not just a venture into the culinary-inspired design but also a philanthropic effort, with proceeds going to support Surf Life Saving New Zealand.
Nick Von K: A Journey Through Creativity
Nick Von K, situated on the iconic Karangahape Road in Auckland, has been a significant figure in the jewellery design landscape for over 25 years.
His journey, which began at Ricochet, has seen the launch of his self-titled brand, celebrated for its innovation and unconventional beauty since its debut at New Zealand Fashion Week in 2010.
The Boneless Collection: Where Culinary Meets Jewellery
The Boneless Collection is a limited series of necklaces inspired by KFC’s Hot & Crispy Boneless chicken and the brand’s famous 11 secret herbs and spices.
Each piece in the collection, priced from $1299, is crafted from sterling silver and pearls, symbolising the bones removed from the chicken.
A Limited Edition for a Noble Cause
According to the official KFC For Good Foundation website, only six of these bespoke necklaces are available for purchase. This initiative by Nick Von K and KFC exemplifies a creative yet impactful way of supporting valuable causes, showing that industries, however diverse, can come together for the greater good.
