My fiance and I designed and ordered an engagement ring online from Blue Nile. The ordering process was simple and the level of education we received from the site was very good. The diamond appraised for $3,000 more than we paid for it by a local jeweller.
Overall I had a great experience buying from Blue Nile. I looked at a large number of diamonds from a large number of jewellers, both in-person and on-line.
It took me a while to narrow down to what I was looking for, but once I knew, I realised that I was going to struggle to get it from within NZ. The stores here just didn’t have the range available and every time I would go to see diamonds in-person, there would be two or three to choose from. With Blue Nile I could see thousands.
So finding the diamond I wanted was relatively smooth and then ‘relatively smooth’ would be my description for receiving it too. After buying, it took a little while for the ring to actually be made and shipped, but once it was on its way, I received regular updates on how it was going until it arrived in NZ and I had to pay some customs fees.
I now have the ring and it looks great, but haven’t yet asked the question. I am sure she will love it!
